Registration is the essential step to take part in the competition this year. A little before the deadline team 5553 registered for the Challenge \u00ab\u00a0At Home\u00a0\u00bb!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What should our robot do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The robot must be able to work in 2 different ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Remote control\u00a0\u00bb mode<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pilot controls the robot’s movements and actions on the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1st round consists of avoiding as much as possible the obstacles present on the ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2 other rounds include ball retrieval at different points of the playing field and shots in the zone of point with 100% accuracy<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our Robot : SCRUMTROOPER 2.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are working on an improved version of our 2020 robot, based on the exchanges we had with the different teams present at the Los Angeles Regional last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drivetrain:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • 6 traction wheels<\/li>
  • 11,3 ft\/s<\/li>
  • 4 Neo brushless motors<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Intake:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • 3 sets of wheels<\/li>
    • Retractable thanks to 2 actuators<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Barrel:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • The advantage of a barrel is the possibilty of storing cells as they come in and to eject them on demand.<\/li>
      • The barrel has a motor that will turn the power cells tank and thanks to blades will send them into the shooter. This mechanism is similar to a revolver.<\/li>
      • The construction of the cylinder is a real challenge for the team because we never experrienced such a mechanism before.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Shooter:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Flywheel shooter<\/li>
        • 2 sets of wheels push the balls up to the shooter<\/li>
        • 360\u00b0 turret<\/li>
        • Adjustable hood to control shoot angle<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Programming:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • C++<\/li>
          • Use of a visual recognition software: photo vision<\/li>
          • Characterization of engines<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Trajectory following<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • Path generation tool based on segments, arcs and clothoids<\/li>
